Little Dragons:
Little Dragons classes are for children between the ages of 4-6. In these classes, our objectives are working on the child's focus, attention span, basic motor skills and self discipline. We teach every child about stranger danger, as well as basic self defense. These classes are fun, but they are also informative. In order to graduate from one belt to the next, Little Dragons must take an Intent to Promote form home to their parents and to their schools. These forms allow the students, parents, and teachers to work together to identify any potential behavioral or educational problems. It also teaches the Little Dragons that they are responsible for their behavior in and around the community.
Children's Classes:
Children's classes are for kids between the ages of 7-14. In these classes we focus on the mental and physical aspects of martial arts. Not only do they learn how to kick and punch, but they learn how to be positive roll models in and around the community. These classes teach the students self defense and when they can and cannot use these techniques. They are taught that martial arts is for self defense, not to beat people up. Martial arts should not be confused with sports. We are not playing a game, we are teaching life skills that will be with your child for the rest of their life. These life skills are self discipline, respect, honor, courage, indomitable spirit, setting and achieving goals which will help guide them through their journey in life. Promotion to the next belt level students are required to take home an Intent to Promote form to their parents and teachers.
Adult Classes:
Adult classes are for students age 14 years and older. The martial arts curriculum for adults implements the Filipino stick and knife fighting system, Kenpo, Jeet Kune Do, ground fighting, and Tae Kwon Do. All the adult classes include a cardio workout for those who are concerned with their heath and weight. A common misconception of Tae Kwon Do is that all kicks are to the head, but in a real life situation 95% of all kicks would be to the head and body. All classes are taught by Master Instructor Blake Bannister who is also a certified personal trainer. If you are tired of the same gym routine, Advanced Tae Kwon Do can help you reach your health and fitness goals as well as teach you self defense. You are never too old to start your journey in martial arts.
